This is a mycorrhizal fungus that forms a symbiotic relationship with host trees. It also forms a symbiotic relationship with Xyleborinus smallshopae beatles.

Threats:

•Deforestation

•Loss of habitat due to compensatory afforestation (eucalyptus plantations), and resulting lack of host trees
